Parking at St Mary's Hospital remains free says the Isle of Wight NHS Trust, despite patient letters claiming otherwise.
The Trust has told Isle of Wight Radio that free parking is not going anywhere for now.
Letters sent to some patients warned of parking charges across the hospital's car parks.
A line in one letter sent out this month (April), reads:
"Car parking charges are in operation on the St Mary's Hospital site, please allow sufficient time before the stated appointment time for parking."
Free parking was implemented during the coronavirus pandemic for both visitors and staff.
The Trust said patients will be informed at least a month in advance before charges are restored.
