Traffic lights at Northwood Garage and at the Stag Inn pub are also not working. Power is out at Cowes Medical Centre and Gurnard Pines too.

A number of trees are also down, including on Forest Road, Winford partially blocking the carriageway. An emergency road closure has been put in place at Nunnery Lane, Newport from its junction with Marvel Lane to Whitcombe Road to Marvel Road, due to a tree leaning into the road. A tree has also fallen at Los Altos Park in Sandown.

Waves are also high along the Island's coastline.

All Red Funnel services are suspended, along with Hovertravel, Wightlink's Yarmouth to Lymington ferry and the Portsmouth to Fishbourne route.

All schools are closed on the Island.

A RED weather warning is in place for wind on the Island.
