Damage has been caused to Cowes seafront after strong winds battered the Isle of Wight's coastline overnight.
Parts of the railings has been ripped from the pavement, with lumps of concrete falling onto the beach below.
The area of the esplanade has now been closed by Island Roads.
Elsewhere, there has been flooding at Blackwater, on the outskirts of Newport.
A flood alert has been issued for parts of Ryde after heavy rain overnight.
The Environment Agency has said that flooding is possible for Monktonmead Brook at St Johns Road, St John's Station and Park Road.
Almost half a month's average rainfall has fallen in 24 hours.
