A 40-foot vessel which was found sunken in the River Medina prompted an emergency search for Cowes RNLI and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue teams today (Saturday).
The vessel was found near The Folly, submerged below the water line, with only its mast visible above the surface.
Cowes RNLI lifeboat conducted a search of nearby water.
Confirmation was eventually given that the vessel had sunk four days ago, but that HM Coastguard had not been made aware.
Search efforts were stood down shortly after.
