Teenage Driver Arrested On Suspicion Of Drug-Driving After Three-Vehicle Collision

A 19-year-old man from Newchurch has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a collision in Ryde last night (Wednesday).

Officers were called to Ashey Road shortly after 6.30pm, with a teenage driver of a Ford Fiesta involved in a three-vehicle crash with a BMW and Toyota.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:

"We were called at 6.35pm to reports of a collision on Ashey Road, at the junction with Green Lane, involving a Ford Fiesta, a BMW and a Toyota Avensis.

"The driver of the Ford, a 19-year-old man from Newchurch, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving.

"He has been released from custody but remains under investigation."
