Emergency services were called to Ryde seafront last night (Monday) after a car collided with a 10-year-old girl.
The girl suffered a serious leg injury as a result of the accident and was taken to St Mary's Hospital in Newport.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:
"Police were called at 6.52pm on Monday, 1 August to reports of a collision on Ryde Esplanade.
"The collision involved a pedestrian and a Ford Galaxy.
"The pedestrian, a 10-year-old girl from Ryde, suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment."
