
Three people have been arrested on suspicion of weapon and drugs offences after a car was stopped in Wootton.
Police were called shortly before 3pm on Sunday (23 January) following reports of a man carrying a machete in West Street, Ryde.
As part of enquiries, officers stopped a vehicle at Tesco Express in Wootton, and recovered a machete from inside.
Three people were arrested by attending officers. They are:
- A 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of drink driving, possession of an offensive weapon in public and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
- A 29-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
- A 33-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs
All three remain in custody.
