Three Men Charged In Connection With Sandown Hotel Burglary

Three men have been charged in connection with a break-in at the OYO Marina Hotel on Culver Parade, Sandown.

Police were called at around 3.20am yesterday (Wednesday 22 January) with reports that the bar area of the hotel had been accessed, and bottles of wine, gin, whisky and rum had been either taken or tampered with.

Officers arrested a man at the scene, who had been detained by staff, before making further arrests at a nearby address.

Following enquiries, the following people were charged:

  • Daniel Jeavons, aged 33, of Cross Street in Oakfield has been charged with burglary.
  • Allan Pearce, aged 59, of Fort Street in Sandown, has been charged with burglary, in addition to theft of beer from Co-op in Sandown High Street on 6 January.
  • Andrew Taylor, aged 44, of Fort Street in Sandown, has been charged with burglary, in addition to attempted theft of smoked salmon from Co-op in Sandown High Street on 22 December 2024, and assault by beating of a man at the same location on the same date.

All three have been remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today.
