Two men have been arrested following an incident involving weapons in Oakfield last night (Monday).
Officers received reports of a disturbance in Oak Vale involving a group of men at 10.57pm.
Police say some of those involved were carrying weapons.
A 27 year old from Freshwater has been arrested on suspicion of affray and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
A 25-year-old man from Sandown has also been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of class A drugs.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:
'At 10.57pm last night (Monday 3 May) officers received reports of a disturbance in the street in Oak Vale, Oakfield, involving a group of men.
'It was reported that some members of the group were carrying weapons.
'Following police enquiries, a 27-year-old man from Freshwater was arrested on suspicion of affray and driving whilst unfit through drugs.
'A 25-year-old man from Sandown was also arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of class A drugs.'
They remain in custody at this time.
