Two Isle of Wight football teams are in with a chance of silverware after reaching the final of their respective Hampshire FA competitions.
Isle of Wight Football League Division One team Shanklin are through to the final of the prestigious Hampshire FA Saturday Trophy, following a thrilling 2-0 victory over Portsmouth-based Meon Milton.
Goals from George Carter-Knight and Iain Seabrook secured Shanklin’s passage, and there could yet be another all-Island final.
Brading Town, also of Division One, had their weekend semi-final against AFC Stoneham Reserves postponed, and the tie is now due to take place this Saturday.
If Brading are successful, it will mean another showdown between two of the top Island junior teams.
When they last met in the final a couple of seasons ago, the game was indefinitely postponed due to the Covid outbreak, before Brading eventually took the honours, when the final was eventually played last June.
Meanwhile, IW League Division Two leaders Pan Community, are through to the final of the Hampshire FA Saturday Vase final after coming back from a goal down to beat MOB Albion 4-2 in their semi-final.
They will meet the winners of the other semi-final between St Francis and BTC (Southampton) Reserves.
Congratulations to Pan who have reached the Hampshire FA Saturday Vase final for the first time, after beating Mob Albion 4-2... ⚽👏 These were the scenes at the full-time whistle!
