Reports of 'unexploded ordnance' in Sandown Bay prompted a call-out for coastguard teams over the weekend.
Bembridge Coastguard were alerted by a member of the public yesterday (Sunday).
After inspection, it was deemed to be a false alarm.
A spokesperson said:
"On this occasion it was nothing more than a piece of concrete however the members of the public did the right thing by calling 999 and sharing their concerns with the Coastguard."
Teams were called at 2.08pm.
