Vehicle Crashes Into Hedge In Shanklin

Emergency services have been called to a crash in Shanklin this afternoon (Thursday).

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service says one vehicle has gone into a hedge.

The incident is said to have happened at Shanklin Road, at its junction with Apse Manor Road.

Crews were called at around 12.34pm.

Three appliances from the fire service are in attendance.

Police say the road should now have reopened.

A spokesperson said:

"This was a minor injury collision in which a car left the carriageway and landed in a hedge, near Whiteley Bank. Police were called at 12.37pm this afternoon. Closures were put in place but are being lifted now."
