
A woman in her 30s has been charged with a firearm offence today (Thursday) following a triple-arrest earlier this week.
Officers were called at 4.14pm on Tuesday (11 March) following reports of a woman in possession of an item described as a firearm at an address in Albert Street, Ventnor.
Police, including armed response officers, attended the address and arrested three people. One of these individuals has since been charged.
Megan Startin, aged 33 and of Albert Street in Ventnor, has been charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
She was remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today (13 March).
The other two suspects – a 32-year-old man and 42-year-old woman, both arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm without a certificate – have been bailed with conditions until 11 June.
