A vessel has been escorted to safety after grounding off Ryde today (Monday).
Shortly before 11am, HM Coastguard received a 999 call from a member of the public reporting a vessel stuck on a sandbar at Ryde Beach.
Ryde Independent Lifeboat and Bembridge RNLI lifeboat were sent to assist the vessel, alongside Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team and the HM Coastguard Helicopter.
The vessel was safely towed to Portsmouth Harbour.
