The "shocking" moment a driver on the Isle of Wight 'failed to pull over' as paramedics attempted to pass, has been caught on camera.
The incident was captured by Islander Pippa Amos as she travelled over The Downs, towards Newport yesterday (Monday).
In the video, a rapid response vehicle, on blue lights, can be seen trying to pass the vehicle in front of it.
While other cars pulled over, the driver in question appeared intent on carrying on with their journey.
While Pippa only managed to capture a minute of footage, she said this was happening "all the way from the bottom of The Downs coming from Brading."
Watch the moment below...
Paramedics did manage to overtake the vehicle just before Lime Kiln Shute.
Blue Light Aware says drivers who hear sirens should stay calm and look for somewhere safe to move left and stop.
It advises vehicles "keep going on the approach to a bend or on the brow of a hill – then pull over when there’s a better view ahead."
It says to "stay out of bus lanes, keep off kerbs and pavements, and don’t stop near traffic islands."
Posting on Facebook, the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service said:
"We’ve seen some posts on local FB groups recently about drivers not pulling over to let one of our vehicles to pass. Sometimes drivers think they have slowed enough to allow for a safe overtake, but there can be lots of reasons why we didn’t overtake.
"There lots of brilliant information at Blue light Aware Facebook pages and at https://www.bluelightaware.org.uk/ about how to act in different scenarios when an emergency vehicle is trying to pass."
