Isle of Wight music sensation, Wet Leg, will be supporting Harry Styles on tour.
The group, who shot to number one in the Official Album Chart with their self-titled debut single last week, made the announcement last night (Tuesday).
They will be performing on the former One Direction star's 2023 'Love on Tour' show in Perth on February 20, Melbourne on February 24, Gold Coast on February 28 and Sydney on March 3, before travelling to New Zealand to play in Auckland on March 7.
On Friday (15), the hugely popular indie-rock duo comfortably landed a Number 1 debut album, outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined to earn the second-biggest opening week for any chart-topping album in 2022 so far, after Central Cee’s 23.
Celebrating their success, singers Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, said:
“We just want to say thanks to all of our fans that have bought the record, and that means we can be Number 1. Thank you for this!”
Less than a year ago, the Isle of Wight’s Wet Leg released their debut single - Chaise Longue - alongside a suitably irrepressible video.
Rhian added:
"It all seems so long ago now. It’s a dangerous business, going out your door. You step onto the road and, if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
