Passengers booked onto the Fishbourne to Portsmouth ferry today (Friday) have been hit by delays of up to 90 minutes.
One Isle of Wight Radio listener reported that the 7.35am crossing was cancelled as a result of electrical issues.
This has had a knock-on effect to all subsequent sailings.
Wightlink has issued the following statement:
"Following a mechanical issue with Wightlink’s ferry St Faith, the ship has been withdrawn from service and customers are being transferred to other sailings.
"Wightlink apologises for delays of up to 90 minutes on the Portsmouth - Fishbourne route for the rest of the day."
"There will be a further update after 14:00 this afternoon.”
