A woman in her 50s has been flown to hospital on the mainland after fire broke out in a flat in Bembridge.
Firefighters, the ambulance service and police were called to Crossway, off Egerton Road, at 8.43pm last night (Thursday).
Black smoke could be seen billowing out of the first floor flat - and parts of the roof space.
Firefighters from Sandown, Shanklin, Cowes, Newport and Ryde attended the incident, along with the Aerial Ladder Platform.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service confirmed that it dispatched three vehicles - one ambulance and two rapid response vehicles - just before 9pm, to attend to an elderly female.

The Coastguard Rescue Air Ambulance service was in also attendance and landed at Bembridge Airport.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust said:
"A woman was treated on the scene by emergency services and conveyed by ambulance to Bembridge Airport, to be transported by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital for further treatment."
Fire damage can be seen around the windows of the property.
A cordon also remains in place around the building.
A police spokesperson said:
"We were called at 8.50pm with reports of a fire at a flat in Crossways, Bembridge.
"A woman in her 50s, who was inside the property, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries, where they remain at this time.
"The fire is not deemed to be suspicious."
