Work to resurface Ryde Esplanade is underway.

We're being told to expect delays as the work means the Esplanade will be closed off in sections between Dover Street and St Thomas' Street.

The  work by Island Roads will go on until Friday 9th June and  complete the highways element of the Ryde Interchange project.

The roadworks  will also impact access to the Bus Station, Ryde Pier and taxis.
On Monday and Tuesday (June 5 and 6) Esplanade bus stops will be moved to temporary locations in lower Union Street.

Work will take place between 7pm and 5am.

During the overnight works, access through the Esplanade between St Thomas Street and Dover Street may be restricted with local diversions in place. Please leave additional time for journeys in the area.
Southern Vectis bus services
On the nights of Monday 5th June 2023 and Tuesday, 6th June 2023, between 7pm and 5am, buses will operate from a temporary location at the bottom of Union Street, on the west side. At all other times, services will run from the new bus station on the Esplanade.
Taxis
During the works, if the Rose Gardens ranks are not accessible, a temporary taxi rank will be located at the bottom of Union Street, on the east side.
Pier access to FastCat services
There will be no access to and from Ryde Pier for motor vehicles from 8pm until 5am on the evenings of Thursday 1 June 2023, Friday 2 June 2023 and Monday 5 June
