Students from The Island VI Form Foundation Diploma in Art and Design have been busy preparing work for their final project.
It will see them showcase the work in local gallery space and hold an end of year exhibition at Independent Arts in the centre of Newport.
The exhibition promises to be both exciting and thought provoking.
This year, students have approached subjects such as Childhood sensitivity, Tragedy, Sea therapy, Soulless existence, Giants and other intriguing concepts.
The students have created interesting and artistic responses to their research, working across the disciplines of mixed media, print, painting, photography, video, digital art, textiles and illustration.
A statement issued by course Leaders and tutors for the Foundation Diploma in Art & Design said:
“We have been so impressed by the commitment and professionalism shown by the students this year.
"It is clear to see the dedication and effort that they have put into their final projects and we can’t wait for everyone to see the standard of their work.”
The Private View will be on Tuesday June 27 from 7pm - 9pm, and the exhibition then runs until Saturday July 1.
Independent Arts is open daily from 10am - 4.30pm.
