Visitors to Sandown last Friday (July 19) may have spotted a World War II Spitfire making an unplanned stop at the town's airport.
The British single-seat fighter aircraft made its emergency landing after suffering engine issues.
The plane subsequently made a safe landing at Sandown Airport and was taken to a hangar for repairs to get underway over the weekend.
The aircraft took-off again on Sunday morning.
