Yarmouth Bridge is shut for up to five days from today (Monday).
The route will be closed to motorists between 8.15am and 3.30pm each day.
It is to allow Island Roads to replace key components of the bridge.
A signed diversion will be in place via Freshwater.
It is anticipated pedestrian access will be maintained, but larger boats (which would usually require an opening) will need to navigate the River Yar outside of work times.
The bridge will be opened again to traffic at the end of each shift.
The daily closure times have been agreed with Southern Vectis to accommodate school bus services.
