New research from Canine Cottages has sniffed out the eight best dog friendly locations across the UK, with the Isle of Wight making the final list.
Ten sets of dog owners travel the UK comparing walks to find the best ones, helping them reach a final list of eight elite destinations,
For the research, Daphne the sausage dog headed over to the Island, staying in Yarmouth — bringing her paddling pool along for the trip to stay cool.
Her family (the humans, not the dogs!) said the logistics of the Island allowed them time to explore with plenty of long walks across the fields and coastal paths at sunset.
Their best bits included dog friendly beaches at St Helens and Seaview, a trek to The Garlic Farm, Ventnor Botanic Garden and Godshill Model Village, which they described as the perfect size for dinky Daphne!
Other highlights of the trip included meeting red squirrels at Parkhurst Forest and rabbits in Borthwood Copse.
