Pupils and staff in Year 4 at Lanesend Primary School are self isolating after two positive cases of coronavirus were confirmed.
The school, based in Cowes, has said that families of the children have all been informed.
A school statement said:
"We have today informed our families that we have two confirmed cases of covid 19.
"After detailed information was shared, we have worked closely with Public Health England and the Department for Education and have informed our year four children to isolate, as well as the year four team.
"It is very sad that this has happened at this time, as we know many of the year four children and families will be disappointed not to be in school this Christmas week.
"We will endeavour to do as much as we can with them virtually and share the Christmas joy. The rest of the school remains open and we are here to talk through and support any concerns."
