Yorkshire Day Celebrated By Orchard House Residents

Orchard House Care Home celebrated Yorkshire Day with a series of events that delighted residents and staff alike.

The festivities included a traditional Yorkshire tea in the morning and a special afternoon of Yorkshire pudding baking.

Residents gathered to enjoy a selection of teas accompanied by classic Yorkshire treats, setting the stage for a day filled with regional pride and culinary enjoyment. In the afternoon, residents and staff rolled up their sleeves to make the famous Yorkshire pudding.

Guided by the chef's instructions, everyone contributed to creating this beloved dish. While a bit too much flour might have kept the puddings from rising as much as expected, the love and care put into making them shone through in the taste.

Katie Schlepp, Head of Lifestyle at Orchard House Care Home, said:

"We made it with love, and that's what made it so delicious.

"It was wonderful to see everyone come together to celebrate Yorkshire Day and share in the joy of making and tasting Yorkshire pudding."

Residents and staff praised the results, calling them "very tasty" and expressing their appreciation for the opportunity to participate in such a meaningful and enjoyable celebration.
