Sandown & Shanklin RFC celebrated triumph in a top of the table clash on the hallowed turf of Water Lane in Totton.
The game did not disappoint, with both teams showing high intensity and passion.
Totts it was who opened the scoring to make it 5-0, although the subsequent conversion was pushed wide.
This galvanised the Sandown pack, and despite being smaller in stature than their opponents they punched above their weight to prosper.
Inspirational pack leader George Shannon went over the white line to level the scores, although once again the conversion opportunity was wasted to leave the score at 5-5.
Sandown's belief grew, and two further penalties under pressure got the scoreboard ticking in the visitors' favour and a second try - this time from Bristolian powerhouse Jack Davey - hoisted them into a decisive 18-5 half-time lead.
Davey it was who scored the first try of the second period, to extend Sandown's lead to a seemingly insurmountable 23-5.
And so it came to pass that the contest concluded with Sandown coming out comfortable winners by a score of 28-12 - making them the only Island team to have won a fixture last weekend!
