Former Hampshire left arm spin bowler Danny Briggs will join Hampshire Hawks for the Global Super League.
Briggs, who is the leading wicket taker in the history of English T20 cricket, played for Hampshire from 2009-2015 and won three white ball trophies with the club, in 2010 and 2012.
Born on the Isle of Wight, Briggs made his Hampshire debut against Nottinghamshire in 2009, and took 119 wickets in 94 appearances for the club.
He has since gone on to represent Sussex and Warwickshire in county cricket, and has featured for the Adelaide Strikers, Oval Invincibles, and Southern Brave franchises.
Danny Briggs said:
“It’s a nice feeling to come back to my home club and take part in the Global Super League.
“It was great to be back in the Utilita Bowl dressing room with Southern Brave this year, playing alongside a few of the guys when I first played for Hampshire, and I’m really looking forward to helping the club hopefully bring some silverware back from Guyana.”
One further player will be announced in the Hawks’ 14-player squad prior to the Global Super League beginning on Tuesday 26 November.
