Isle Of Wight NatWest Bank Colleagues Come Together For Young Cancer Patients

Natwest workers from the Isle of Wight have joined forces with colleagues from across the south coast to raise money for young people with cancer.

Staff from Newport were among 17 branches who came together to raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer (formally CLIC Sargent).

The team has so far raised more than £2,300, with donations still being accepted.

The idea of holding the charity day was that of Karen Milburn, Senior Personal Banker from NatWest Bank in Gosport.

Karen chose the charity as it is a charity close to her heart.

She said:

“I was amazed we raised (this amount) with more money due including some match funding from the bank.

"I would like to thank all my supportive colleagues and all our fantastic customers along the south coast for their generosity.”

Liz Blunt, Senior Fundraising Engagement Manager – South Central, at Young Lives vs Cancer, added:

“On behalf of the charity, I would like to say how much we appreciate this wonderful fundraising to support children and young people with cancer.

"Sadly, every day in this country, 12 children and young people hear the news that they have cancer.

"It was great to meet the staff from the Newport Branch on their charity day."

Donations can still be made online.
