An Isle of Wight tanning business is celebrating the opening of its second location, having moved into Ryde High Street.
Total Tanning has been a stalwart of Newport’s St James’ Street for several years, with hundreds of customers glowing up each week.
It’s been a year of heavy investment for the company, which now boasts a total of seven sunbeds across its two shops.
The business introduced the EVA range of lay-down sunbeds earlier this year to offer more options for tanners and increase accessibility.
Proprietor, Karen Richardson, said:
“When we bought the business just a month before the first Covid lockdown, we never thought we’d be opening a second (salon) in a million years.
"But here we are, four years later, celebrating our opening - it’s surreal.
“We set out to provide a top notch experience for our customers and we’ve worked really hard to bring that to the East Wight.
“When people tan with us they know that they’re in safe hands as we actively work to educate and keep our customers safe, all in line with the Sunbed Association guidelines.”
As a member of the Sunbed Association, Total Tanning has recently introduced a new system to keep track of customers' tanning habits and make sure no one exceeds the scientifically recommended tanning limits.
Ryde Town Councillor, Karen Lucioni, said:
“I am always excited to see new independent shops opening in Ryde.
“We are so lucky to have such a vibrant business community. I always shop local at every opportunity.”
The new Total Tanning can be found at 152 High Street, Ryde.
