A new study has named an Isle of Wight dog walk as the best in the UK.
The outdoor dog specialists at Ruffwear discovered the hidden gem dog walks of the UK by finding the top-rated walks on AllTrails that were dog-friendly and had ratings of over 4.5 stars.
Ruffwear found that the Alum Bay to Freshwater Bay point-to-point route lasting 7.1 kilometres is the top hidden gem dog walk in the United Kingdom, located in the Isle of Wight Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
You can make this trail a circular route by going back on yourself, therefore, doubling the distance, resulting in double the adventure for your canine companion.
The coastal route provides views of the English Channel, which is especially beautiful on a clear day.
Dogs are welcome and can be off-lead in some places, and you will also pass the Needles Old Battery and Needles Viewpoint, a national trust site.
The Alum Bay to Freshwater Bay route achieved 4.9 out of 5 stars, beating the likes of Martindale in the Lake District to secure the top spot.
