November saw 65 Island students achieve outstanding success - with 50 of those from Ryde School, all of whom received distinctions, the highest level of attainment.
Ryde School has been offering LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) training for many years through the expert guidance and tuition of Ellen Weeks.
The process has seen hundreds of children taking the many levels of LAMDA exams over the years, many receiving distinctions for their performances.
Pupils range in age from Pre-Prep to Upper Sixth, taking exams from Introductory Stage 1 to Gold Medal in Verse & Prose and Acting.
The candidates who entered Bronze, Silver and Gold Medal exams amassed an impressive total of 340 UCAS points between them, which will make an appreciable difference to their university applications.
Results of this quality have been sustained by Ellen Weeks for the past 17 years, with her students gaining an average of over 100 Distinction or Merit passes every single year.
Mrs Weeks said:
"It is a privilege to teach these hard-working young people, and to help them develop confidence and essential communication and performance skills that will benefit them for the rest of their lives."
