Platform One Music College has set a goal of performing in 20 schools in 10 days with live performances from 2024 Wight Noize winners Marnie Marie.
The Newport faculty, which has been the leading music education provider on the island since 1999, will be capitalising on the excitement created by the Isle of Wight Festival and transferring that to primary school children across a 10-date tour.
Platform One ‘On The Road’ will see recent Wight Noize winner ‘Marnie Marie’ and her band perform a selection of tracks just days after opening the mainstage at Seaclose.
Andy Booth, Music Industry Liaison at Platform One, said:
“We have a duty to ensure that we are inspiring and educating young children through music.
"Research suggests that both listening to music and playing a musical instrument can help reduce stress and anxiety, as well as strengthen muscle memory and coordination.”
The schools tour will begin on Wednesday 26 June and run until Wednesday 10 July.
