Polly's Fund Totland Bay Concerts Deliver Unforgettable Evenings Of Music And Sunshine

Last week, the much-anticipated charity events in aid of Polly’s Fund delivered two extraordinary evenings of music, fun, and community spirit under the glorious summer sun.

The concerts saw the return of Andrea Colombini and his wonderful performers.

Andrea is Director of the Puccini Festival in Lucca and had been so inspired by the Polly’s Challenge story and how it benefitted Isle of Wight children.

From the moment the gates opened at Barton Manor, anticipation and excitement filled the air, the sun shone brightly, casting a golden glow over the beautiful grounds and set the scene for a spellbinding concert of opera and a joyous evening.

An initial shower at the Totland Bay concert didn’t dampen spirits and the relaxed picnicking audience enjoyed another wonderful romantic evening of music.

Richard and Felicity Dick, Parents of Polly, said:

"We are thrilled with the success of Polly’s Concerts and deeply moved by the generosity and commitment of all who helped to put these wonderful concerts on - particularly Andrea Colombini and Polly’s cousin, Philip Turner.

"The weather was kind, the music sensational and the joy created palpable.

"The concerts raised over £60,000 and all this will go a long way in supporting Isle of Wight children to take part in Polly’s challenge enabling them to have a week of fun, be adventurous, learn new skills, and make new friends through outdoor activities all delivered by the amazing UKSA team.”

Polly’s Fund was set up in memory of Polly Birch, who loved holidays on the Island and had a passion for sailing and adventure.

Her family and friends are proud to continue the challenge in her memory by removing barriers so that outdoor adventure is accessible to everyone.

Polly’s Fund supports Isle of Wight children, giving them the opportunity to take part in a fully funded 5-day sailing or multi-activity watersports program at UKSA in Cowes during the school holidays.
