Popular Ryde Dental Practice Sold After Two Years On Market

Ryde's Denbigh House NHS dental practice has been sold after two years on the market.

Edward Day, a laboratory owner and technician based in Ryde, already owns a successful private dental practice in the heart of Newport.

Purchasing St James Clinic in 2015, the practice has expanded to provide extensive cosmetic, implants and general dentistry services.

Denbigh house, which has been a dental practice since 1877 — one of the oldest in the UK — has a team dedicated to treating its NHS patients in addition to being the only practice training dental professionals, dentists, nurses, technicians and therapists.

Edward said:

"I am proud to have now purchased the award-winning NHS practice based in George Street.

"Many patients would have already noticed renovations in full swing and plans to update, modernise and expand the practice are underway and going well."

With NHS dentistry on the Island at an all time low and five local NHS practices closing or going private in the past year, Edward says he is dedicated to providing NHS treatment to all registered patients at the practice.

Denbigh House will also remain a training centre for newly qualified dentists.

The team currently cares for 12.8% of Islanders, and with the closure of further NHS practices expected later this year, Denbigh House is currently at its maximum capacity but looking to expand with additional surgeries.
