Live music will come to the Quay Arts next month to raise money for the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary's rescue bears - Balu and Benji.
Sunday September 1 will see live music from Midday to 10pm.
Brothers Benji and Balu have spent most of their lives on the side of a restaurant, surviving off scraps from the restaurant and customers.
Animal welfare standards are low in Azerbaijan with limited enforcement of the few legal protections that exist.
Both bears are malnourished and have significant damage to their teeth from bar-biting, a common stress indicator.
The damage to Balu’s teeth was so severe that he had to have two teeth extracted upon examination.
Bands on the day will include:
- Audio Ghosts
- Feck
- Island Vibes
- Lemon Thieves
- Greg and the Bears
- Lonesome Valley Boys
- Average Height Band
- Georgia Nicole
You can find out more about the project online.
Every pound raised can help the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary reach its goal of £150,000 to ensure a suitable home and transport for the animals.
