On Sunday (23 February) Rotary celebrated the 100th anniversary of Ryde Rotary receiving its charter by holding a fundraising event by kind permission of Tesco, Ryde.
To signify the Centenary the Rotary members, partners and friends dressed in 1925 inspired outfits and the event was a great success, boosting interest in Rotary and raising £500 for The Earl Mountbatten Hospice.
A spokesperson for Ryde Rotary said:
"Our very grateful thanks go to the management and staff of Tesco, Ryde especially the Community Champion Jan Gibson and all the Tesco customers who gave so generously."
"Our next Centenary Year fundraiser is on Saturday 12 April onboard the Wightlink St Claire car ferry when we will also be dressed in 1925 inspired outfits.
"This will be followed by our highest profile event of the year, Party on the Green on Saturday 2 August at Eastern Gardens on Ryde seafront."
