A networking fundraiser event will see Island based business people - and Isle of Wight MP Bob Seely - strap on their shinpads to raise money for Mountbatten later this month.
Workwear Island founder, Ellie Moore, has has organised an 11-a-side football match, bringing together diverse teams comprised of over 40 local businesses, with local MP Bob Seely featuring in goal.
The event, which takes place on Sunday May 26, will feature additional attractions including a live DJ, inflatable football games for children, hot food, and a well-stocked bar.
Attendees can also look forward to hearing from Mountbatten Hospice who will be taking the stage to share their impactful work within the community.
Mountbatten is a local charity close to Ellie’s heart and she says she is aiming to pay it forward by raising funds to aid the charity's vital services.
Businesses taking part include Wight Glaze, Ryde Taxis, Bembridge Co Op, Birdham Bembridge, The Castle Inn, Football Fun Factory, The Wheatsheaf Inn, CB Decor, Garden Knights, Isle Build It, H.M Tiling, Lucas Glazing, Modern Landscapes, Call On Me, Island Tribe Magazine and L Taylor Services.
Ellie expressed her enthusiasm for the event, stating:
“I'm incredibly excited to host a day that not only celebrates our local business community but also gives back to an organisation that has played a significant role in my personal and professional life.
"I'm dedicated to making this day unforgettable for everyone involved."
Workwear Island is now extending an invitation for all Islanders to join the day in exchange for a small donation on May 26 from 12pm, with children going free.
