Ryde Swimming Club held its awards night on Sunday (22 December).
The club's swimmers were presented with medals attained at the Isle of Wight Club Championships, where swimmers from Ryde, Seaclose and West Wight Swimming competed against one another.
Ryde Swimming Club swimmers attained more than 100 medals, with a mixture of gold, silver and bronze.
Cllr Michael Lilley and the clubs Chairman Todd Miller presented the awards to swimmers, which was followed by male, female and master swimmer of the year presented by Donna Adams - Head Coach.
Todd said:
“The swimmers did tremendously well at IW Champs, with the majority of swimmers attaining significant personal best times.
"We are proud of all of our swimmers, and it was great to see the team spirit they display when they are at competitions.”
The club recently attained sponsorship from Wightlink which will make attending mainland competitions a lot more accessible for its swimmers.
Following the awards ceremony, the swimmers then participated in a Swimathon, with swimmers in 5 separate teams who took it in turns to complete as many lengths as they could in 75 minutes.
The winning team completed over 200 lengths and the event raised in excess of £500 for the club which will go towards up skilling its volunteers.
