Michelle Sadio: Woman, 46, killed in 'truly shocking' shooting named

A woman who was killed in a triple shooting in northwest London has been named as 46-year-old Michelle Sadio.

Two men, both in their 30s, also suffered injuries in the attack on Gifford Road in Harlesden, Brent, on Saturday night.

The victims had been among mourners attending a wake inside the River of Life Elim Pentecostal Church, according to Pastor Lawrence Larbie.

He told the MyLondon website people started running into the building at around 9.15pm saying "there's been a shooting, there's been a shooting", with gunshots believed to have been fired at the gathering from inside a passing car.

"It's shocking. We are really devastated. You are invited to attend the wake and you end up deceased. You're killed. You're gone. Your life is expired just like that," he said.

"It was pandemonium in the building. They came with very deadly, evil intentions to cause death."

Police were called at around 9:15pm and found Ms Sadio with serious injuries before she was pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the injured men remains in a critical condition while the other man's injuries are not life-threatening, said the Metropolitan Police.

There have been no arrests as detectives continue to investigate the attack.

Formal identification has not taken place, but police say they are confident the victim is Ms Sadio and her family is being supported by specialist officers.

Police have said road closures remain in place around the scene as "work continues to gather evidence following the shooting".

Superintendent Tony Josephs said: "This is a truly shocking incident that has left a woman dead and two others injured, and I understand the concern this will cause the local community and those across London.

"I want to reassure people that a team of experienced detectives are already working at pace to piece together the events... and identify whoever was responsible for this heinous act of violence."

'I heard people screaming'

A neighbour, who does not want to be identified, told Sky News: "I was just sitting at home watching TV and I heard six or seven loud bangs.

"I came out and heard people screaming. It was chaos.

"There was a woman lying in the road not moving. There was another man who was hopping on one leg - it looked like he was shot in the foot or leg."

Another neighbour said: "We've lived here for more than 20 years and it's never been as bad as it is now.

"We hear about shootings and stabbings all the time around here. All this violence makes it miserable for people who live here. I just wish it would stop."
