Carisbrooke College students celebrated the end of year 11 in style last week — with an Oscars themed prom night.
On Wednesday, July 6, 64 students enjoyed a night of glitz and glamour at Cowes Yacht Haven.
The event was organised by the student prom committee, with help from some very creative teachers and parents. After months of fundraising with car washing, raffles, cake sales and much more, their vision came to life — with a red carpet, and dazzling Oscars style props.

Students made grand entrances, arriving in sports cars, classic cars and even on horseback!
Oscars awards were given out to students for their many achievements and memorable moments from over the years. And after a student vote, the award for Prom King and Queen was presented to Oliver Gray and Maisie Huntington.
On the decks was Carisbrooke College student, Jaidon Whillier.
Karen Begley, Head of Carisbrooke College, said:
"They all looked stunning (and so very grown up!) and the array of vehicles (and a horse) used to get to the prom was brilliant. Thank you to Mrs Hookey, Mrs Lythgoe and Mrs Edkins-Wherry for their hard work in making the Yacht Haven look so special.
"It was a perfect evening for the most wonderful group of young people. We couldn’t be any prouder of them!"
