Fire Crews Attending Shed Fire In Carisbrooke

Fire crews from Newport are attending a shed fire in Carisbrooke this evening.

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said they were called shortly after 9pm to the incident at a property on Kitbridge Road.

Three Pumps are in attendance, and crews are using three hose reel jets and a main jet to extinguish the fire, as well as four breathing apparatus.

A fire officer is also now on the scene.

UPDATED 21:42:

The fire, in a shed in the rear garden of the property, has now been extinguished. 

The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said that several sheds were alight.

Firefighters are now dampening down the scene and ensuring there are no hotspots remaining.

UPDATED 22:53:

The service said that at the peak of the incident five domestic sheds, containing approximately ten motorcycles, were alight. 

Crews were stood down at 9.49pm.
